یک نکته بسیار مهم

همیشه به خاطر داشته باشید به هیچ وجه فعل را ing دار  با Let  به کار نمی بریم.به مثال زیر توجه کنید:

 Let’s Learning English  این جمله به هیچ وجه صحیح نمیباشد.فرم صحیح این جمله به صورت زیر میباشد:

Let’s Learn English

به مثالهای دیگر توجه کنید:

When we are talking about things or people in general, we do not use the.

I’m afraid of dogs.

We use the for music instruments:

The piano is my favorite instrument.

The+ nationality

We use the with some nationality adj to mean ’the people of that country)

The French are famous for their food. (=the people of France)

We use the in names with ‘republic,’ ‘kingdom’, ‘states’

We do not use the with names of most streets/roads/squares/parks ect.

Among را زمانی به کار میبریم که در مورد بیشتر از دو نفر یا چیزی حرف میزنیم.اما between را برای دو نفر یا  دو شئ به کار میبریم. مثلا:

I was standing between negar & reza.

وقتی میگوییم the cinema/theatre منظور سینمای به خصوصی نیست.مثلا من میگم:من هر هفته به سینما میرم.اینجا, من مشخص نکردم که به کدام سینما میروم.در این گونه حالات همیشه the به

کار میبریم.

معمولا the radio به کار میبریم, اما تلویزیون را بدون the به کار میبریم:

I often listen to the radio.     We heard the news on the radio.

I often watch TV.                 We watched the news on TV.   

اما:

Can you turn off the television, please? (=the TV set) 

مقایسه کنید:

          There isn’t a theatre in this town.                             

I am going to buy a new radio/TV (set).                    

صبحانه , نهار,  شام

معمولا theرا با breakfast,lunch,dinnerبه کار نمیبریم:                                                                                                                                                                                                                     

What did you have for breakfast?            

  We had lunch in a very nice restaurant.    

What time is dinner?                             

The را با اسم+عدد به کار نمیبریم:

Our train leaves from platform 5. (Not the platform 5)

(In a shop) have you got these shoes in size 42?

به همان طریق میگوییم:

Room 126(in a hotel), page 29(of a book), section A.

کاربرد The

 The را زمانی به کار میبریم که از چیزی فقط یکی وجود داشته باشد. (یگانه باشد.)  مثلا, طولانی ترین رود, رود نیل است.در جهان تنها یک رود دراز بنام نیل وجود دارد.پس:

What’s the longest river in the world?  (There is only one longest river) 

The earth goes round the sun and the moon goes round the earth     . 

I am going away at the end of this month.                                          

فراموش نکنید:

Paris is the capital of France. (Not Paris is capital of…)

به مثالهای زیر توجه کنید:

We looked up at all the stars in the sky.                                                       

Would you rather live in a town or in the country?                                       

We must do more to protect the environment. (=the natural world around us)

The را قبل از same به کار میبریم:

Your T-shirt is the same color as mine.                      

These two photographs are the same.

ساخت لغت

اگر شما  اطلاعاتی درباره طرز تشکیل بسیاری از لغات انگلیسی داشته باشید, یادگیری معنی و کاربرد آنها در زبان انگلیسی میتواند راحتتر و حتی لذتبخش باشد.

  ریشه یک لغت, شکل اصلی آن است.یعنی عنصر اساسی ای که در همه اشکال دیگر لغت مشترک است.پیشوند شکلی است که در ابتدای ریشه و پسوند شکلی است که در انتهای ریشه قرار میگیرد.به عنوان مثال:

                                            فعل  < =measure

                               فعل+پسوند <=measurable  

                           پیشوند+فعل <=immeasurable

پیشوند معمولا معنی یک کلمه را تغییر میدهد, در حالی که پسوند جز کلام را تغییر میدهد. برای مثال پسوند able فعل را به صفت تبدیل میکند.پیشوند im معنی کلمه را متضاد میکند:measurable به معنی قابل اندازه گیری و immeasurable به معنی غیر قابل اندازه گیری میباشد.

زبان انگلیسی از این روش ساخت لغت, بسیار سود منیبرد.به لغات متعددی که از ریشه act ساخته میشوند توجه کنید:

   با آموختن فقط چند پسوند و پیشوند شما میتوانید معنی صدها کلمه مختلف را تشخیص بدهید و یا حدس بزنید.                                       

یادگیری لغات زبان انگلیسی

شما چه تعداد لغت زبان انگلیسی بلد هستید؟این سوالی غیر منصفانه است , زیرا امکان ندارد که بتوان به آن جواب دقیقی داد.شمارش تعداد لغاتی که یک فرد میداند, مشکل است.یک اشکال, در تعریف لغت وجود دارد.آیا ما باید  am, is, are, was, were, be را شش کلمه مختلف محسوب کنیم؟چنانچه کسی بداند که spring نام یک فصل است اما معانی دیگرش را نداند, آیا میتوان فرض کرد که این شخص معنی spring را میداند؟

فراموش نکنید.زمانی که در جست و جوی معنی یک کلمه هستید فقط معنی اول فهرست را نخوانید بلکه دو کار دیگر را هم انجام دهید.

1-  به املا و تلفظ کلمه و به خصوص محل تکیه بگاه کنید.

2-به لغت بالایی و پاینی کلمه مورد نظر نگاه کنید.این کلمات اغلب با آن کلمه ارتباط  دارند.
